Eugene at its finest

Here is a little collection of things that I have seen whilst on my stay in Eugene that have made me smile. Eugene doesn't seem overly pretty from the outside but when you look around, just like I have, you come to notice a few really cute quirky things, like the fire hydrants that are all individual and painted in bright colours, or 2 ducks that are in the same spot at the same time, every single day. When I first arrived here I thought this would not be a fun place to spend 11 weeks, but it has exceeded my expectations and I am finding myself having lots of fun. Being a city girl, it is probably not somewhere that I could live forever, but I am definitely glad I have experienced this little town and the friendly people within it.

420

Yesterday was the iconic '420' day, where people let out their inner hippie. The 60's era of clothing was so cool, so laid back with bright colours and flowers (that is if they were even wearing clothes as most liked to run around naked). Lots of vests and jewellery, shaggy hair and accessories such as big hats, headbands and sunglasses were a common theme as well. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the movie Almost Famous, probably one of my all time favourites, so I felt a few photos of Kate Hudson as Penny Lane were necessary!

Edie Edie Edie

As my first post, I wanted to dedicate it to one of my all time favourite fashion icon's Edie Sedgwick. She was Andy Warhol's muse and I think she has such an edgy but simple style, one which people are still striving to recreate. She always wears oversized earrings, a cute little dress, or leotard and black tights, lots of the time with a fur jacket over the top. It is/was her birthday today so here are a few photos that show why I love her.
